This was the theme of my day. I realize that it’s challenging for me to let go of stress that builds with lack of control. I have a responsibility at work to keep our website running smoothly and seamlessly, while increasing traffic, revenue, etc. Of all times of the year to be having our website bog down, now would be the worst time.
See, I’m on the marketing and managing side of this whole web thing, so when it comes to “figuring” out why our website is slow, I have to rely on others expertise and knowledge. Our web guy is great, but we have terrible support at our hosting company, which leads to a lot of mistrust.
My day was full of feeling responsible, yet not being able to actively do anything to help resolve the issue. So I can admit that sometimes I need to be in control of things, and well, this tested me all day long. I basically had no control, zip, nada.
My Yoga breathing came in handy as well as this mantra, “if it’s out of your control, let it go.” Easier said then done, right? Hey, that’s why its a mantra, it’s meant to be repeated and keep you focused.
In the end, the issue seems about 90% resolved and the speed of our site has increased greatly since the weekend. [sigh]
So I went to dinner with a few friends and had a nice cold frosty Bud Light to smooth over the day. And tomorrow if I need my mantra, I know where to find it.
