I find it best to write a post soon after something I would like to write about and if time slips away, so does the post. This has occurred recently in regards to this past whole week starting with last weekend. I wanted to write about it, but the space has grown to where I will leave you just a few bits.
As many of you know it was my birthday this past Monday on Memorial day. I usually celebrate my birthday for a whole weekend and this year it moved all the way into the week. My friend Emily’s birthday was on that Tuesday so after much debate and a bit of frustration (I won’t go into the details) we decided upon a trip to Canada, where camping in the rain was removed from the original plan.
In less than 24 hours, we were in Nelson, BC with our passports and puppas in tow. We stayed at a really nice Hostel called “White House, a Backpackers Lodge.” I recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Nelson for a few days and need a cheaper place than a hotel.
We hiked, biked, walked, shopped, ate, drank, read, relaxed, listened to music, laid in the sun, walked a labyrinth, sat on a beach, adopted a dog we called “bruce” for a hike, visited a great coffee shop more than once, experienced amazing scenery, and nice drives with great music.
That long run-on sentence doesn’t really do it justice, but that’s what happens when I wait too long to post.
The birthday week continued with her birthday dinner celebration, surprise gifts from a new friend, dinner with some old friends, many beautiful warm wishes and gifts from loved ones afar, and feeling great about turning 32.
Here are a few pics from Nelson, and I apologize for the less than descriptive post.
